The Sunrise Sewing Sessions run every Friday morning for 6 weeks from June 9th to July 14th. We may take the 14th July as a holiday and have the final day on 21st July.

A perfect way to wake up to the weekend, this refreshing morning class allows to you take time out and get on with your own project, with lots of guidance through each stage. Whether you are just beginning your sewing journey or already have a project in mind, this 6 week session is suitable for all levels. Each class is 2 hours long which allows plenty of time to get stuck in and get lots done on your own project. Time tends to fly in when your sewing!
What is covered in the session:
- In a nutshell, whatever project you fancy taking on, we will show you how.
- It could be altering clothes, copying your favourite pattern or finishing off your tailored jacket or replacing a zip in your favourite cushion.
- Unfortunately due to the space of our studio we are unable to make or alter curtains or blinds.
Project based classes allow the student not only to learn how to make their chosen project, but also learn from seeing what the other students are making.
About your tutor: Christine's mum taught her to sew when she was six, which means she has been sewing for over 36 years! She has over 25 years experience in fashion, film costume, and self employment in Northern Ireland. She teaches with patience, passion, enthusiasm and encouragement at every step. Our N.I Sewing Bee Angeline Murphy was once one of her dressmaking students. Since 2008 she has taught more than 2000 students.
The Venue: Classes are held in Christine's quirky up-cycled home studio which has been featured both on television and in magazines. This gives Christine access to her wardrobe where she can show students every seam, zip and different design that they will be learning.
Equipment: All sewing machines and sewing equipment is provided. You are welcome to bring your own machine is you wish.
Materials required at first class: Please bring your own personal project. If you are not sure what you would like to do, bring some ideas of something similar or some images, we can take it from there. Additional haberdashery can be purchased in class. Maximum in class: 5 students. Class sizes are limited to 5 people so each student benefits from lots of tutor attention. There must be a minimum of 3 bookings for the class to run.
